Aspire E5-575G Intel ME firmware update is detected as a trojan

Hi,
trying to update the firmware for Intel as per the article,

The update for Aspire E5-575G has two parts, a ME driver update and a ME FW update. The ME update works as documented in the PDF.
The ME FW update relies on a file SKL_KBL_ME_Update_01.exe
but windows Defender detects that file as a Trojan Bitrep.A and removes it as soon as it is extracted.

I looked around the answers and googled it but don't see any other reports of this, either as a trojan or as a false positive.
I'd like a bit more assurance before running that file. The ME update ran an Intel update, not this sketchily-named SKL_KBL thing.
Any ideas ?

You need to consider the possibility this was a false detection. Alternatively, if you think your computer is infected suggest you try some “free” on demand scanners which will not interfere with your resident AntiVirus program -  you might need to run them in Normal Mode, Safe Mode or Safe Mode With Networking:

The only solution you have is to disable the anti-virus for a couple of minutes to run the program again. You may also want to delete the original and download a fresh copy from our website as your Windows Defender could have damaged this files causing a bad install.
