Hello guys,

Will I lose my warranty if I remove my HDD and install a SSD on my Acer Aspire 5 ?
I know that I also have a M.2 slot but I would like to replace my HDD because it's a bit noisy :)

Thanks!

    Hi,
Do you have any warranty warning sticker on any of the screws at the bottom cover? If such stickers are on the screws, you can open up the back cover and upgrade to SSD, make sure you don't damage any internal parts or the cover, however, it's better to get the confirmation from local Acer support centre, so I would suggest you to give them a call.

  • I just asked the @ Acer-Karp! And the answer they gave me was that the user could make any changes to the hardware and that the warranty would only be violated if something was damaged in the procedure, ie you can open and put a ssd as long as it does not damage the notebook! The colleague @ Acer-Karp also recommended that this procedure be done by a qualified professional!
