Hello,

I have an Acer Chromebook Model: N16P1, The issue we are having is with a 3rd party application not resuming correctly when the Chromebook is woken up from sleeping. The application is the FortiClient VPN application that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. When the application is configured and running it works great. If I close the lid on the chromebook for some time and open back up the lid, the application comes up in an all black screen. If I close the application and open the screen it comes up with a black screen and I can't do anything to get it back to the user name and login prompt. The only way to fix this is to completely shut down the chromebook and restart it. Any ideas?

Please make sure your chrome OS is up to date. If its already updated then it could be because the android app is not fully compatible yet. So, checking in developer mode would give you actual result.

I believe it's actually by design. The FortiNet people know they're going to have to reconnect after a sleep, since the network goes away during that time. They also don't have any way to know if the same network will be there after waking up, so they just don't even try to do a reconnect. They could make a better choice by handling the user interaction with a 'reconnect to VPN?' when waking up instead of just being in a weird mode, but you'd have to contact them to make that suggestion.
