Hello, this happened on Monday as I visited a website. I opened 5 tabs for each article I wanted to read. One of these tabs changed into a Windows Defender alert hoax and started to download multiple files like 15 and over onto my PCs without my consent. The downloads slowed my computer down to the point it was very slow. Being afraid that more of these bad files would download into my PC, I did a forced shutdown.

I tried to turn it on again, and it didn't comply. The green light at the Ethernet port is on and blinking and the system fan does a spin and stops.

    Hi @EdHelms

Please try the below troubleshooting steps.

    1. Unplug all the cables connected and flip the computer upside down
    2. Now remove the battery
    3. Press and hold the power button for 30-40 sec
    4. now connect the battery, charger and turn on the device. this should help in fixing the problem.

I fixed my Gateway DX4860 by installing a new power supply unit.
