I am having a hard time with my internal volume.  No sound is getting picked up at all. From what I read it may be a defective microphone. What are the steps I need to take to see if I can find the problem?

    Hi, I would like to know, have you tried connecting earphones to your computer and checked audio through that? If you get sound through earphone, then it might be hardware issue with laptop internal speakers. If not, you can try uninstalling the sound driver from Device manager by following the below steps;

    1. Click Start, type Device Manager, and press Enter.
    2. Find and double-click the Sound.
    3. Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.
    4. Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click OK to remove the driver.
    5. After the un-installation is complete, reboot your computer as soon as possible.

    Once computer reboots, fresh sound driver will be installed. Check for sound. Hope it works!!!
