Netflix playback problem

When playing back a Netflix movie in full-screen mode the screen flashes erratically.  When I move the mouse just a bit so the control 'buttons' appear on the screen the flashing stops.  When they disappear, the flashing resumes.  This is on a brand new CB315-1HT-C9UA.  It "plays" just fine in the normal size screen mode.  Video playback works fine in other "apps" like You tube and Hulu.  Anyone else having this issue??

Netflix by default seems to limit it to 480p. When you start playing a video, press ctrl+alt+shift+s, and then select the unselected bitrates and deselect the selected ones. Then skip backwards to force it to reload the stream. It will then be full quality. Use ctrl+alt+shift+d to verify the resolution. you can change the video resolution to a higher option and click "override" and force it to stream at that quality. Press the same key combination to close that menu after.

Another option is to  wait for a few minutes to let it fully load. Then, while the video is playing, press ctrl+alt+shift+D and you can see the video streaming details like resolution. Note that the resolution will start lower but gradually go up as streaming loads the buffer.

Thank you for your reply, Sharanji.....I tried your technique with a couple different movies on Netfilx and it worked on one but completely locked up the screen in an unrecoverable state on the other movie.  I had to disconnect the battery to shut it off.  The next day after a complete sign-off and power down, the video went "blank" with only random lines and gray being displayed.  I was in the Chrome browser.....not Netflix.  Hmmm.....any other ideas??

Thanks again and 'preciate the help.

I read that you have PlayStore access, so why not try the Netflix App? They are designed for Chromebook. Install the Netflix app and see if the problem is fixed? The problem might be caused by an outdated FlashPlayer or HTML5 player is what I read.
    BElieve in YOUrself.

Hello, I am a new user. Is there anything I need to erase from the manufacture that is installed already, in order to speed it up or free my drive?

I don't think so......the normal "bloatware" on most laptops is not on Chromebooks....assuming you have a Chromebook.  Speed issues depend on processor speed and WiFi connection speed.  Hope that helps.
