I have 2 acer laptops. Both of them are Aspire 5749 series. In one them I was being unable to boot from CD but in the other one the CD was working fine. I wanted to reinstall windows in both so I decided to reinstall in the other one. Now since I reinstalled the windows it is not allowing me to boot from CD (in the other one also). I need to get this done because there has been some fault in my windows installation and I need to re-install. But it is not allowing me to do so.

I searched the internet and tried everything that was suggested. It allows me to change the boot order in the setup but does not follow it i.e. it boots from the hard disk without giving me the option of booting from CD. I enabled F12 boot menu option and it shows me my CD Rom in that menu but does not load from the CD when I select it.

I have also been unable to find anything else that I could change that would make it boot from the CD. It shows no boot options like legacy or UEFI to change it. Everything else seems to be enabled and SATA mode is in AHCI mode.

I really need to make my laptop load from CD and would be really appreciative if anyone could be able to help.

Thanks and Best Regards.

To anyone having the same issue, I managed to solve the problem. I disabled quiet boot and now it is allowing me to boot from CD.

    Thanks and Best Regards.
