Hi guys,

I recently got a good deal on an Acer Predator G1 with i7 6700 CPU and 1080 graphics card.  My plans are to upgrade to an i7 7700k and 1080ti.  Some possible hurdles I see in my way is motherboard support for the 7700k and not enough power for the 1080ti.  On the CPU front, I see a BIOS (https://www.acer.com/ac/sv/SE/content/support-product/6820?b=1) for 'only' Kabylake platform, so that should cover the 7700k.  I know I won't be able to overclock the CPU.  For the 1080ti, I read in a review that one of the two 230w laptop ac adapters is dedicated for the graphics card.  According to this chart (https://www.pcper.com/image/view/79392?return=node%2F67284), the 1080ti would exceed the available 230w.  I was thinking of picking up a 330w laptop ac adapter to replace one of the 230w ones, but I'm not sure if the system would know to fully utilitize it.

So after all the research you've done on upgrading this thing, you seem to know what you're up against. So what have you decided to try? Jack E/NJ
