Hello all,

I bought a certified refurbished R13 (CB5-312T) on Amazon and long story short, after only a few short months the screen started shorting in and out when I'd adjust the angle of the hinge. It continued to degenerate and it's basically inoperable now. I took it to a repair place after tinkering with it a bit myself, and they said the cord which connects the motherboard to the screen is basically toast. New screen kits do not come with this part, so even replacing the entire screen won't help.

They advised they have no idea where to get this part from. But all indications are that the computer would be perfectly fine with this one piece replaced.

Any thoughts, suggestions, or advice? I'm desperate. I've had this unit less than a year. I love it, and don't want to junk it over one tiny cord.

Thanks for any help

I believe the cable they're looking for is the LVDS cable, Acer part number 50.GHPN7.004. YHave them double and triple check before sourcing it. :)
