I own a T77H462 Netbook on which the OS is completely wiped including recovery.  Windows 10 was installed on it, but it does not work well.  I plan to reinstall Windows 8.  I have two questions :

1)  If I buy a WIndows 8 installer, off Amazon for example, is it true that the original Windows 8 license key is recorded on a chip on the motherboard and will be automatically recognized by the Windows 8 recovery disc?  (On Amazon they have these bootable system-reinstall flash drives which do a full install but which do not include a license key.)

2)  Do I need to install Windows 8 in 32 or 64 bits?

I am not very proficient and would appreciate answers to these questions and any advice anyone might care to give.
Thank you!

The product key for new computers that come preinstalled with Windows 8, 10 has the product key stored within the motherboard firmware. When you reinstall it will pick up the Product Key and activate the system automatically. If you have not created USB recovery media, you may get the same from Acer store or please contact Acer support in your region to get the USB recovery media. Windows 8 disc from Amazon will not work, only the OEM disc from Acer will work with your device. This media will include all files for Windows 10 installation,  Acer preinstalled software and drivers.

Thank you so much for your informative response, especially for the direct link to the Acer recovery flash drives on their site.  I had not been able to find that part of their site on my own.  I think that ordering the recovery media from them will totally solve my problem.  Thank you very much!!

I do have a question about the key finder you recommended.  Just to be clear, is this key finder designed to retrieve the key from the motherboard chip?  The computer currently has a Windows 10 installation, and the original WIndows 8 recovery partition has been eradicated.  So if this key finder is only looking at the hard drive itself I believe there is no way it will retrieve the original factory Winodows 8 installation key.  It may only possibly find the current Windows 10 license key.

Thank you very much for your help and for your quick response!
