Some of my clients have received portal end of service emails.  I have investigated and cannot find anything to suggest this is legit on the Acer boards or on the Web.  Can anyone shed light on this as I have an Acer laptop and I have not received any notices.

Thank you

Thanks JD123. Can anyone else or can anyone from ACER confirm the legitimacy of the message?

To answer all of your questions, the end of service notice is regarding Acer's BYOC coming to an end.

    http://support.cloud.acer.com/eng

If you do not use abApps, it is safe to say that you can ignore the warning.

    If you use Acer cloud
, it is time to move all your data to OneCloud or Dropbox or anything else at the earliest.

    Cheers!

Just received my first alert on this - and by the way, it's October 11, so thank God I didn't use it.  The pop-up, though, when I boot seems to be preventing my computer from booting.  Thank heavens for the link to open a browser to go to the FAQ, which let me get here.  I clicked "I got it," but it keeps happening.  Any ideas on how to make it stop?  Would like to have my computer back.  Very frustrating.

    Hi rmcoplon,

I'm sorry to hear this, If you are still receiving end of service notifications from BYOC Apps, you have to uninstall all abApps and the AOP framework.

    Please follow the steps :

    Thanks,

I am still getting this and have uninstalled all abApps. I don't have the AOP framework.  HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS POPUP?

I installed CC Cleaner, clicked on Tools and Acer Portal was still showing as a program to uninstall even though I had previously uninstalled it from Control Panel.  So I uninstalled Acer Portal again using CC Cleaner.  No notifications as yet so hopefully FIXED

Like semire I also have an Acer laptop that I have just logged into for the first time since before September 2018.  I got the message saying that Acer portal services had been withdrawn in September 2018 and it just gave the option to click OK which I did not realising that once I did this I would then have a completely unusable laptop with just a black screen and a constant egg timer appearing!
