Been using an HP LaserJet Pro P1102w connected by USB cable. Suddenly stopped working. Tried uninstalling printer and reinstalling. No luck. Checked for updated drivers. None. Suspected Windows 10 64 bit upgrade problem, so rolled back. Still no go. Printer works fine on another laptop. Any thoughts?

Probably you are missing the printer driver after the Windows update, when you rolled back the driver might still be missing. Did you try downloading the HP LaserJet Pro driver and installing it again? Simply go to Run -> and type Control Printers. You will get the printer options and go ahead get the options. Good luck with this and let me know if you need help!

Thanks. I thought about that and I have reinstalled the driver. No luck. It acts as if it cannot see the device connected to the USB port. If I try to install the driver using the install disc (rather than downloading it) it keeps saying to connect the printer or turn it on, even though it is connected. Have tried different cable and different USB port, to rule those out.

I have a similar problem. My Aspire 5 doesn't find the printer (HP laserjet P1102w) on wireless. It works well on USB. I've tried a number of ways to solve the problem. Both my phone and tablet works well useing the app Printer Share. Does anyone have an idea? I'm useing a Netgear R6080 router.

Problem solved. I found that when rightclicked  on my wifi connection and chose Properties, I got a screen where I had two options on my Network profile: Commen and Hidden number. Commen was checked, and then the communication between printer and laptop was impossible. When I checked Hidden number everything worked very well.
