Hi,
I have the Acer V15 Nitro Black Edition - VN7 592G 79KR Laptop.
I would like to upgrade the following:
  • 128 GB "SAMSUNG MZNLF128HCHP-00000 (SATA (SSD))" to a 500 GB Samsung 970 EVO NVME SSD.
  • 1 TB "Western Digital WDC WD10JPVX-22JC3T0 (SATA )" to a Samsung 860 EVO SSD.
Before I go purchase the above, I would like to confirm that my laptop is compatible and will indeed work after upgrade.

Information from Speccy:

Motherboard:
Model Aspire VN7-592G (U3E1)

Bios Version:
V1.11

Please help.
Thanks.

Regards

    Hi,
I have found a customer review mentioning PCIex4 support for this model, also there's a BIOS update for "Optimized PCIE SSD performance" in driver downloads, so I think you can try 970 Evo.
Could you please install HWiNFO64 Free, run it, expand Bus, expand PCI Bus, highlight each PCI Express Root ports and find the maximum link width value in the right pane, let us know whether you get 2x or 4x for any of the Ports. Hi Brummyfan2,

SO I have the info you asked for. There are 3 ROot ports, I am pasting all 3 here.
I believe you are looking for the 1st one I posted below, #5. The other #3 and #4 are for wireless and ethernet adapters respectively.
Please let me know if my system supports the SSDs or not. Thanks.

    Hi,
Yes, your system supports NVMe SSD and Samsung 970 Evo will be fine, you can also upgrade the HDD to a 2.5" Samsung 860 Evo.
