Alright so my desktop is an acer aspire ATC-780 (part no. DT.B59AA.003 ). I hope some of you guys have this exact model and have experience and knowledge the specifics of the motherboard because I am wondering if it is capable of powering a gtx 1080. Now I know the first thing anyone familiar with this pc would say is it wont physically fit the pc case, but i am just asking for the motherboard. I am planning to keep the motherboard and place it in a different case with a better higher wattage power supply, therefore apart from anything else, will this motherboard from this pc be capable of running a gtx 1080? Does anyone know the answer to this or has done something similar to this and can tell me about it. Thank you beautiful people :D this is how it looks.

All motherboards that support UEFI booting and a full size PCI-e port can support any GPU. It doesn't matter what the GPU is, as the PCIe ports are the same for every motherboard. Of course there is an exception when the motherboard is very old the GPU is likely to not work. In other words gtx1080 is supported on your motherboard.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.
