Hello community,

I hope this question finds you all well.

I have no idea about electronics and  computers: So I gave you all the headsup.

I have been to homecenter here twice, both times I got converters. Both times the "width" of my plug was wider than the converter, so i couldn't connect these parts.
I tried both cheap " simple " adapters and proper power concerters.

What is it that I am overlooking, that seemingly the Acer's plug is too wide for all converters? What keyterms do I have to mention, so ghat staff knows what i want?

FYI I have been in the store with the cable, to show them what I need.

With the very best regards,

A

Try using a Worldwide All in One Universal Travel Adaptor. Most modern laptops can automatically handle from 100 to 240 volts, which lets them operate without a separate power transformer or converter. The United States generally uses electricity at 120 volts, while Europe ranges from 220 to 240 volts.

To make sure your laptop can deal with the voltage range, look on the chunky block part of the power cord to see if “100-240V” is listed next to Input. You should also make sure the laptop’s power adapter operates with frequencies of 50 Hertz to 60 Hertz. The United States uses electricity at a frequency of 60 Hz, while 50 Hz common in Europe.

But while you may not need a power converter, you’ll probably need a plug converter to slip over the prongs of your German power cord and adapt it for the Colombian outlet configurations. Most stores sell travel supplies carry plug converters for various electrical outlets, as well as other helpful items like surge protectors to help protect your gear in those countries with somewhat erratic electrical systems.
