What kind of sata can i put on my laptop?

Hello, i have an Acer Aspire E5-573g, doesn't has a cd-rom so i want to put a SSD(intel 120 GB sata iii). Sata 3 will fit in?

    You need an SATA-to-odd connector adapter shown below. You can either buy it separately or get it as part of the caddy frame for about the same price. Your choice. Without the caddy frame, I've wrapped both HDDs & SSDs in anti-static foam to protect and immobilize them inside the laptop. Foam seems to be as good as a metal frame, easier to install and maybe even better. Jack E/NJ

    You should have a removable panel on the side of the laptop that covers the space where the cd rom or ODD would have been located. It should accept ODD caddys that are designed for a normal 2.5" SSD or a smaller m.2 SSD card. Jack E/NJ

    I know i can put a caddy there but i am asking if i can put the ssd without the caddy?
