Hi,
I have an Acer Spin 513-51 58W laptop, which I am hoping to get working with a Samsung Syncmaster 206BW monitor which I bought new in 2007.

This is just a stop-gap measure to allow me some time to save for two state of the art monitors; I realize that the monitor will probably not even be able to handle 1080p.

The Spin 5 has the following connections:
1 x USB 3 ports
2 x USB 2 ports
1 x HDMI port

The Syncmaster has the following connections:
1 x 15 pin D-Sub (RGB IN) port
1 x DVI (DVI IN HDCP) port

I have a few questions about this:
1. Is it possible to get the monitor working with the Spin 5?
2. If it is possible to get the Spin 5 and Syncmaster 206BW to work together, what connections should I use?  HDMI on the Spin 5 to DV on the monitor? Or can I connect the the
monitor to one of the USB ports on the Spin 5?

Many thanks in advance for any help you can give me with this.

Do them both for good measure. Less than $20 with free shipping. VGA will always fit older monitors that you might have laying around. Jack E/NJ
