I recently bought an Acer swift 3 and i like ti very much. However it came with Endless OS. It is fine but not exactly what I want. I would like to run linux mint on it but i'm afraid to lose some functionality. I did some searching online and found that people had some complications with installing linux on acer swifts and some issues after installation.

So my question is if the latest linux mint is compatible with my Acer swift 3? Has anyone tried to install it and has it worked?

I have an Acer swift 3, i5 8250U, 8gb RAM, 256gb SSD

as mint is "live" bootable, might be an idea to live boot a usb stick and try it out (wi-fi, sound, etc).  That'll allow you to test it on your machine without installing it on your machine.

I've never installed endless before but i'm guessing its as simple as  a "common" linux install so i think this is their site and it would be a good idea to make a bootable endless stick too.

I thought about that and will try it out. If I mess something up if I install, is there some way to recover the endless os?
