Good to hear :)  I didn't think the performance would be lacking as the Helios 500 has plenty of thermal headroom.  One of the things I like best about the bigger Predator notebooks is their quietness of operation.  My Asus S7BS8750  (GL703GS) is more portable, equally the trade of is the 12V fans for the cooling system are much louder when the notebook is in maximum performance mode (100% CPU & GPU overclocked) needing to spin faster & harder to maintain good temps

    Q-6
Yeah, i was switching from msi gp72mvr and thats why i was worried, had plenty of problems with that one.
I was thorn between Asus and Acer (have been using acer laptops for few years now and had no problems, ever) and since i never owned anything from acer i was worried, especially since there are some very vocal acer haters on internet.
But since helios 500 was looking very promising i decied to order it.
    And it was good decision.

Thanks again for your elaborate answers btw. Now i know much more about throttling lol

In your earlier posts of this thread you refer to the low clock speeds and power throttling of this PC despite the temp headroom. It's CB is often around 800-900 instead of 1100-1200. You were aware of this being an issue but ordered and said it was a good decision. Were you able to resolve the throttling issues? I wanna by this but not while I haven't been able to un-gimp it. I still only get 800CB with CPU set to max in PS and undervolting. Please see this post for more info I'm dealing with:
