Hi
I recently bought an Acer Aspire 7 (A715-71g-78SN) and am currently trying to put a M.2 SSD in it. After successfully finding a M.2 slot under the back plate of the laptop i have found that it is m-keyed. However, I still can't find the information on whether it takes SATA or PCIe SSD and after searching on internet for hours upon hours I still didn't find the answer. Could I maybe get someone to help me out with this, please?

The slot is compatible with both keys( M key and M+B Key), that means you can either use a SATA M.2 SSD or a NVMe M.2 SSD.
Your BIOS will recognise the NVMe SSD as I have installed a NVMe SSD in A515-51 without any problem, install the SSD, download Minitool partition wizard free program, run it as admin, use migrate feature( at the top), after the completion of migration, remove the HDD and try to boot with only the SSD, after confirming everything is fine, you may delete the OS from the HDD and use it for storage.
