I am running two ASUS VE248Q displays on a Aspire TC-780-NESelecti5. This system has an Intel HD Graphics 630 display adapter on motherboard.  One monitor is on VGA connector (Display 1) and other on HDMI connector (Display 2).  I must run display adapter at 1680x1050 with display driver set at 59 Hz to avoid annoying retrace line at bottom of VGA connected display.  No problem when using the suggested 1920x1080 at 60Hz on HDMI connected display.  Note when in 1920x1080 only 60 Hz refresh rate is unavailable.  Any body else with similar problem with a fix that involves 1920 x 1050 resolution?

The TC-780 originally came with a 6th gen CPU then they switched to 7th gen with a different motherboard. The 6th gen had two HDMI ports and it sounds like your newer model has a single HDMI and a VGA? The chipset supports higher resolutions than HDMI supports, so I'd expect you to be able to output 1920x1080 on the VGA port, likely at 60Hz but possibly at higher refresh rates. I can believe the 60Hz only on the HDMI, that's stock HDMI spec.
