Just researching before buying

Hello, I spent some time looking but could not find a post with similar question. Please send link if I have missed it.
I have a Nvidia 1070GTX video card and am looking for a 27" 2K IPS monitor for gaming ( Blizzard Games and Rocket League mostly ) I live in Vancouver area and I am noticing limited stock on the XB271HU bmiprz Part Number: UM.HX1AA.001
Are these panels just hot sellers? Or is there a new Series coming out soon I should be waiting for?
I know there is always something new coming, but I would rather drop the $$$ on a newer model then buy something that has been out for a few years already.

Old&Hot carry more weight with me than New&Hot in making my own decisions. My reason? The former have a lot more actual user history. The latter, a lot more mfr or mfr-influenced hype. I usually check for low-rated 1- & 2-star user reviews with common complaints --- such as the amount backlight bleeding --- that might bother me more than most other reviewers who pushed the overall average rating in the 4-5 star range.
