I have a Aspire V17 Nitro and have had it for over a year.  windows explorer keeps giving me this message "You are running out of disc space on drive F".  it started after the last windows update.
I can see there is a drive f, and that space is being used, but I don't see any file folders or files in there.  What's up?  How to fix this?

Yes, it could be a recovery drive or it seems like EFI System Partition. Also, it probably could be a leftover from the original installation, not worth trying to reclaim the space and can be ignored. The easiest way to do that is to use Disk Manager to remove the drive letter, if it does not have one it won't be listed in Explorer.

Here's what you'll want to do to silence the warnings and it should work perfectly:
    >>>You need to unasign a drive letter to this partition.
Hold the Windows key and R at the same time to open the Run box. Type in "diskmgmt.msc" (without quotes) and press OK. This will open up Disk Management.
The bottom half of it will have some tiles that show your different partitions - you'll find one that that is labeled "(F:)"
Right click on that, and choose "Change Drive Letter".  "F:" should be highlighted. Go ahead and click the Remove button. Hit 'Yes' to the warning message you'll get, there shouldn't be anything relying on a drive letter for windows at all.
    Boom you're done!

    >>>If you still get the warning message, here is how to disable the low disk space warning messages
To disable these balloon messages follow the steps below:
Open the Registry Editor by clicking on Start -> Run and running REGEDIT.
    Navigate to the following location:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Right-click in the blank area of the right-hand pane of the Registry Editor and create a new DWORD Value by selecting New -> DWORD Value.
Name this new DWORD Value NoLowDiskSpaceChecks
Double-click on the new DWORD value and assign it a value of 1.
Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

I repeatedly receive the same message about drive F:.

    "Low Disk Space
You are running out of disk space on Local Drive F:
Click here to see if you can free space on this drive."

Of course, when you click, there is no space to free up.

I tried the fixes above, but neither works.

When I try to unassign the drive letter, no drive F: appears in the list.

When I go to the registry editor, I can either go here:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
    or here:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

    but not here:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

These constant warnings are driving me crazy. Please help!
