Hello! I have a laptop S5-371-767P, with Windows 10 Pro and Linux in dual-boot (to install the Pro version of Windows along with Linux I changed the security of the bios from UEFI to Legacy).

I realized I had a very old version of the bios, the 1.06.  I then updated the bios to the latest version 1.13 via Windows 10 Pro.

When I started up my computer, I realized that the update had no effect! I have repeated the simple operation both as administrator and as simple user, but my bios doesn't update, and it remains to the old version 1.06!

How can I solve this problem and update the bios?

Thank you for your answers!

What problem are you having with the v1.06 that you believe an update will fix? Jack E/NJ

    (1) Which WiFi card is installed? (2) What problems does it have? (3) And when did these Wifi problems start? Jack E/NJ

I use Linux Debian Edition, based on Debian Jessi (kernel - 4.9.0-0.bpo.6-amd64) 98% of the time on my computer.
I also have a second partition with Win 10 Pro and a third one with Debian Wheezy and old kernel.

Everything has always worked, but for a month now the WiFi is connected to the router and everything is fine but at some point there is no network, I have to restart the WiFi card of the computer and I have network again. This is also the case with the older Debian I have on the other partition. With Win 10 Pro, this doesn't seem to be the case. Other devices such as smartphones and tablets are connected to the network without any problems. I've seen that the latest version of the bios improves the relationship with the internal WiFi card, so I want to update the bios.

I would like to know how I should update the bios. In any case, the operation of updating the bios must be done always and in any case, beyond specific reasons, and I am wondering how to update the bios, because I have encountered problems in doing so!

    >>>changed>>>bios from UEFI to Legacy>>>

This may be partly to blame. Why did you do this? Win10 & Debian work better from a UEFI bootstrapper on a GPT-partitioned HDD. Jack E/NJ

That is not the topic of my question ..

Sorry. The manner in which UEFI bootstrap is updated is unlike BIOS. Dual boot should be implemented with UEFI bootstrap to avoid update failures or bricking. Fortunately the latter didn't happen. Jack E/NJ
