Aspire E-15 Password Lost. Factory reset 'has a problem'

Wife forgot local password on E-15. There is no MicroSoft password. Tried factory reset by hitting ALT / F10 on startup. Works to the point of 'resetting computer' then returns with 'there was a problem resetting this computer. No changes were made.' Is there another option.

    Error message that you have mentioned looks like OS is corrupted. So, you cannot use the in-built recovery partition to perform reset. You can contact acer technical support and place an order for recovery media (or) you can also create OS using Microsoft MEDIA CREATION TOOL 

    Note: Installing OS using Media Creation Tool would not contain Acer pre-installed applications and drivers.
