Hi Guys,

I am the happy owner of a V3-571G 52456G50Makk.

It originally came with an i5-2450m and now i'd like to upgrade it.

I found the motherboard model on ebay and on aliexpress, but i would prefer an official source ( i didn't find any).

The only document with an acer logo that i found is this

https://www.acer-shop.sk/download/118-aspire-v3-571g.pdf

Does anyone of you has an official list of compatible cpu for this specific model ?

If possible i would avoid an i7 because they all cost more than 90£ on ebay ( i believe it's not worth it for a machine of this age) and because i assume they will be warmer than any i5 ( 35w vs 45w).

I'm thinking to another i5 just to use the full ram frequency (now i run at 1333mhz) and to pass from an intel hd 3000 to a 4000. do you guys believe it's worth it or get better to keep my 2450m ?

Thanks

Yes, upgrading to a i7 will be better but expect it to make your laptop to run slightly warmer, I don't think the fan will be faster as your cooling system was designed for i7 CPUs as well, price for i5-3360m also looks good in ebay but make sure that you don't get a BGA type CPU, get the confirmation with the retailer.

    Hi,
You can upgrade to one of these i5 CPUs, i5-3210m, i5-3320m or i5-3360m, you won't notice a massive performance change by this upgrade IMO, I would suggest you to upgrade your HDD to a SSD, if you haven't done it already, that will  improve the performance immensley.

    Hi,
Already done. I've got a western digital 3d nand and i've also added some extra ram.
I have to say that it's a totally different machine.
I know that i shouldn't really touch the cpu of a 5 years old laptop but........i don't know if i can resist :)

should i notice any difference with a better i5 or do i need to move to an i7 ?
will the fan spin faster and making more noise or is everything pretty much the same ?

    Thanks

I have several V3-571G running i7-3630QM processors.  I use the cooler that has the additional fins over the graphics memory chips.

I find no additional heating, over the previous i5 processors.

Here's the TDP for various i7

    i7-3940XM SR0US 3.00GHz 8MB Quad core <- questionable  55W
    i7-3920XM SR0T2 2.90GHz 8MB Quad core <- questionable  55W
    i7-3840QM SR0UT 2.80GHz 8MB Quad core  45W
    i7-3820QM SR0MJ 2.70GHz 8MB Quad core  45W
    i7-3740QM SR0UV 2.70GHz 6MB Quad core  45W
    i7-3720QM SR0ML 2.60GHz 6MB Quad core 45W
    i7-3635QM SR0UY 2.40GHz 6MB Quad core 45W
    i7-3630QM SR0UX 2.40GHz Quad core  45W no problems

I have not tried anything higher than the 3630QM.   These are in boards with GT640M and GT730M, NB.M6A11.001 and NB.M7D11.001, respectively.  All are set with 2x8GB memory modules, total 16GB.

The GT730M boards have 4GB graphics ram on the motherboard, the GT640 board has 2GB graphics ram on m/b.

I have V3-571G-53238G50Makk   i5-3230M notebook. I want to upgrade it. i7 3630qm compatible ? There is one i7 3630qm cpu and it is turning off two seconds after run. No screen activity. I dont know it is not "compatible" or "warming up" or cpu is "corrupted" ? if not supports Which i7 cpu should I choose ?

Firstly Andy8555, its very strange that your V3-571G "It originally came with an i5-2450m" as most of the V3-571G's (to my knowledge) came with the 3rd Gen Intel CPU's e.g. 3xxxM, QM and the i5-2450M is a 2nd Gen CPU? Yours must be one of the first V3's to be released, as from my experience (and I've owned an Aspire 5750G) and that had the 2nd Gen Intel CPU's i5-2410M was fitted, so for a V3-571G to have a 2nd Gen Intel is very strange, are you sure?

My V3-571G built date: 2012/05/30 came with the i7-3620QM, NVidia GeForce 640M which is 3rd Gen.

But, if you are looking for a compatible CPU list and all specs to the i5-2450 then look here at CPU Upgrade at: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_i5_Mobile/i5-2450M_(BGA).html  or 3rd Gen compatibility chart then look here at CPU Upgrade at: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_i7_Mobile/i7-3610QM.html

That will tell you everything including the compatibility percentage of upgrading to a different CPU or a faster more powerful e.g. from an i3 to and i5 or an i5 to an i7 etc (btw don't take too much notice of the percentage as anything that is 30% and above is compatible) its worked for me as I've updated my OEM i7-3610QM CPU to the core i7-3940XM and it states there that there is a 38% of an 'upgrade chance' but it worked perfectly, the only thing when it quotes 'upgrade chance' is with either TPD wattage or the temp that an upgraded CPU could pose, saying that, with this upgrade, the CPU did get a bit hotter than comfortable and I have to run this laptop on a 'Zalman M25 Silent Laptop Cooler 5-speed Adjustable Cooling' which is very cheap but works perfectly to cook the CPU and its absolutley 'lighting fast'

Hello, can i upgrade my Acer Aspire V3-571g's Intel Core i5-3210M to Intel Core i5-3360M or i5-3380M?

The Intel Core i5-3210M will fit and work100% but I would suggest that you put an Intel i7-3610QM as the Intel i5’s 3rd Gen’s are a bit under specified for the latest Windows 10 when you could easily upgrade to an Intel i7.

I've had an Aspire V3-571G for 3 years (bought second hand) and have extensive experience upgrading modding this laptop. My Aspire V3-571G came OEM with an Intel i7-3610QM Ivy Bridge Socket G2 CPU which is a 4 core 8 threads 2.3GHz to turbo  3.3 GHz with L2 Cache of 1MB and L3 Cache of 6MB and TPD 45W and it works exceptionally and with no problems.

My suggestion to you is to upgrade to the higher spec V3-571G like mine with either the Intel i7-3610QM Ivy Bridge Socket G2 CPU and NOT upgrade to any higher CPU than an Intel Core i7-3720QM that is a 4 core 8 threads 2.6GHz to turbo 3.6 GHz with L2 Cache of 1MB and L3 Cache of 6MB and TPD 45W don’t go any higher than that as there are issues with the Intel i7’s and NVIDIA GPU’s with extensive heat, especially when you are playing games.

I’ve had to do some major cooling mods to this laptop due to its overheating and also use a tablet cooler, have a look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvCLzUcvUa4 of what cooling mods can be done to an Aspire V3-571G.

Also, I’ve installed 1 x internal 2.5: SATA SSD’s and 1x SATA 2.5” SSD with a caddy into its DVD slot. I’ve also updated its RAM to 2x 4GB PC3-14900 DDR3L-1866MHz and it works perfectly in dual channel with no issues.

The V3-571G is an excellent budget run of the mill older laptop that is very usable as a second third utility laptop (with the upgrades I’ve done) to utilize Win-10 Home or Pro and runs Win-10 latest version 2004 OS build 19041.508 perfectly with no issues or BSOD’s or any blue screens!

Hey all. Just got a ACER ASPIRE laptop V3-571G with i3-3110M and tried to upgrade with i7-3630QM SR0UX 2.40GHz Quad core 45W . Unfortunately getting only black screen and fun spinning.

Any ideas about? Mobo is HM77 express .

    Our Mobo is FCPGA988 supported or , FCBGA1023. I think it's G2 rCPGA 988B

    Bios onboard 2.21

    Thanks in advance.
