Second NVMe drive not detected by BIOS in Acer Swift 3 SF314-52-52V8

I just purchased a WD Black 512Gb NVMe to use as a second drive on my Swift 3. I compared the specs to the currently install Intel NVMe and the specs line up. Installation in the M type M.2 slot was easy. The BIOS does not appear to auto detect the drive after installation. I have look for a second install method, where you dont use the second NVMe as a primary drive on the WD community site, nothing there. My primary drive is an Intel P600 Series 256Gb.  Has anyone had the same issue and if so, is there something additional I am missing on the BIOS side that is preventing detection of the second NVMe? Thanks

Quick Update. Spoke to an Acer Level 1 Tech on chat. The model is capable of running a second NVMe up to 512Gb that meets the M2280 form factor and M type connnector. Waiting for the callback from the level 2 tech and engineer. Will keep you all posted on a solution once I have it. Cheers! :)

Hello, I have the same problem.  Were you able to solve it.
I just got a brand new XPG SX8200 Pro but unfortunately, the Swift 3 won't recognize it :-(

Yes I was able to solve the problem. The issue is that that specific port on the motherboard will not work with NVMe style drives. You have to use a traditional SSD and then it will be recognized, so just stay away from NVMe style drives and go with a more traditional SSD and you'll be fine.  I used a WD Black SSD, works great.

This might be my problem I own a Acer Swift-SF113-31-P5CK (N17P2) Manufactured 2017/09/02. I just brought a Kingston A2000 NVMe PCI 500GB SSD 80mm. It fits in but is not being detected. grrhhh

I should add, non PCIe is needed. Otherwise the port on the board won't pick it up

@Ahi yes, the SF113-31 models support a SATA SSD in the M.2 slot, not an NVMe.

@mwdb66 Could you kindly provide the exact product number for your WD Black drive, or more particulars?  I'm about to embark on the same upgrade for my SF314-52-52V8 laptop and I cannot locate the hard drive you were recommending with the description provided so far.  Thank you in advance for your assistance!
