Just bought the new AN515-53 - i5 8300H / GTX1050TI  and while I'm playing Heroes of the Storm, my CPU is running around 80-85C / GPU 60C
My question is, is it normal? I had an Alienware before this one and...I never reached 80C while I was playing a game...
I ordered a cooling pad from Amazon, just in case..HAVIT HV-F2056 with 3 fans...

80-85C is a normal CPU temperature for this laptop. You should start worrying if it goes above 90C. To reduce the temperature you can undervolt the CPU with Intel XTU or ThrottleStop, which very effective.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

While running at high temperature will shorten the life span of the processor, modern intel CPU’s have built in thermal throttling which prevents damage to the processors.

When a CPU reaches a certain temperature, the throttling will force the processor to dial back performance to reduce thermals. This is normal but not desired by some as constant high temperatures can shorten the lifespan of the processor.

I have the same laptop and mine gets up to 99° at times. I’ll replace the laptop well before the processor gives in.
