Can't get rid of menu on Aspire 7600U

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me out here.

When I turn on my 7600U I get a menu in the top-left of the screen.  I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this menu to disappear.  I've attached a picture.   I've tried pressing the exit button and using the slider menu/lights on the top right of the PC to no avail.

Hi,
You could try a power drain, switch off the PC, disconnect from mains, press Power button for 30Secs, leave it to rest for a while and then turn it on and see whether it fixes the problem.
