Can anyone help? I'm using an HP 360 Envy laptop and use an Acer S271HL as my external monitor. Earlier today, my laptop automatically updated Windows 10, and since that time, my ACER monitor is black. This happened a few months ago after a windows 10 update, and I ended up rolling back the update to a previous version of Windows 10. That instantly solved the problem. I'd like to be able to update windows without losing my external Acrer monitor. And yes, I've updated ALL possible drivers. In fact, my computer lists my Acer monitor under device manager, but can't detect the Acer.  Can anyone help?

Use the Windows key + X to open the power user menu and select Device Manager. Expand Display Adapters. Right-click the adapter and select Uninstall.   Click OK to confirm. Connect the external monitor. Restart your computer to complete the task,  let the operating system reinstall the driver automatically upon restart and hopefully, the black screen will disappear.
