Hi,

I am on my second SF315-41 after returning the first one for display card issues.  I am now having problems with this one where I am getting the TDR Failure blue screen.  Things I've tried:

Updating drivers
Uninstalling graphics card completely
Reinstalling drivers in safe mode
Turning off hardware acceleration
Turned link state power management settings to "off"
Added tdr delay setting to registry with a value of 8
Updated BIOS

Nothing has worked.  Neither the shop I bought from nor Acer can suggest anything else other than to exchange.  I really like the laptop and don't want to have to swap it but I have to say I'm not impressed with my experience so far and will have to take it back if I can't get this resolved.

Anyone else having the same issue?

sarahlu I'm sorry hear about your trouble with the device. I would recommend trying one more troubleshooting. That is to replace atikmpag.sys oratikmdag.sys,  the error code showing in the blue screen of death error, with a new, problem-free one. For more about it and clear instructions hit the following link:

@Spelunker Thank you for your reply.  I have looked in the folder you specified but I don't have an atikmpag.sys file there...

Hi, I have same problem (same PC, SF315-41).

Sometimes Video TDR Failure occures. And I have no clue to resolve it.

I hope new Drivers or BIOS will resolve it. Please release new drivers, Acer.

same here, I was color correcting some videos on Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 on my SF315-41 yesterday and I got video TDR failure bluescreen two times. not sure if I had to stick with the old driver Acer has provided or trying the newest one from Windows Update...

To all those with the same problem. Unless system protection was enabled, a factory re-set or re-fresh(saves personal files) done outside of the Windows environment and without internet connection is probably the best way to quickly rule in or rule out a hardware vs a Win10update-induced driver issue. If the problem persists with the factory-shipped Win10 version, it a likely hardware issue. Follow the video below for the cold boot ALT+F10 factory reset or refresh method Jack E/NJ

There are 2 Methods to fix this issue

    1. Try to update the graphics driver, if there is no update do a rollback driver
2.Power option: Click start button>click command promt(Admin)> than type"powercfg -h off" than press enter and type exit.
than goto power option>balanced> change plan settings>change advanced power setting>goto intel graphics settings than change the
"On battery" to maximum and "plugged in" to maximum than click apply and Ok

NOTE: After doing the method 1 or 2 you need to restart your computer. hope these troubleshooting steps fix your issue. Please try and get back if issue not resolved

My PC Ryzen 2500U : SF 315-41 was "Norton Internet Security (NIS)" Preinstalled model. And now, I realized that the NIS influence bad effect to this PC. Just uninstall NIS from Control Paner never remove all NIS programs.

And I used "Norton Remove and Reinstall tool (at Norton's Website)" to remove NIS completely. (and My pc needed fingerprint sensor's driver to reinstall after using removal tool.)

Now, My PC is running so Fast and Comfortable ! Performance is like 2 or 3 generation differ cpu.  No strange errors (blue screen or sudden shut down) happen.
