This happened once already this morning when I started up my laptop after doing a “Shutdown and update” last night. I got to the predator logo then a pure lit up black screen with no courser. At first I thought it was because of I used a second monitor so I did the fn + f5. That didn’t change anything so I did what I saw on another post and pressed the reset button on the back of the laptop. Again that didn’t do anything so I did the  alt f10 to go back to a restore point. Finally it worked, so I decided to update windows again to the build 180 something. After it was done It gave me the option to restart my computer so I did. Now I am back where I started with the black screen. I could go back to the restore point but I don’t know how to avoid doing the update. What can I do about this? Is this a known problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Please try to go back using the restore point.
    >>Place the computer in a clean boot state and install the update manually.
Click Start, type “msconfig.exe” (without quotes) in the Start Search box, and then press Enter to start the System Configuration Utility.
On the General tab, click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box.
On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all. Click OK, and then click Restart.

    >>Check for updates manually immediately after you have restored your computer.
Select the Start  button, then select Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update.
If you have any update available to be installed, check for the update details along with the Knowledge Base (KB) number.
Go to the Microsoft Download center and enter the Knowledge Base (KB) number in the search box for the update that you noted down and download to install it manually. Microsoft Download Center

    >>You can stop this process using these simple steps:
To make changes in startup to disable Windows 10 forced updates, open the Run command by pressing Windows + R. Now, type services.msc and hit Enter. Now, in the list of processes, located the Windows Update service and open it by clicking.
To disable it, under the General tab, find Startup Type and change it to Disable.
Now restart your Windows 10 PC to disable Windows 10 forced updates.
To restart the Windows updates in Windows 10, simply follow these steps and change the Startup Type to Automatic.

    >> You can also download the Windows Update Troubleshooter, and then select Open or Save in the pop-up window. Select Next and follow the steps in the wizard to find and fix problems with Windows Update.
