I have purchased the laptop in the US thru a friend and he got it along with him to India. Now I have realised that my laptop's SATA cable and HDD caddy are missing. How do I get those two parts here so that I can install a sshd for my laptop.

    Hi,
You have to buy them either online or from any Acer Partner Retailers in your region, you may use a foam sponge to secure the HDD in the bay to avoid the hassle of looking for HDD bracket and the screws but the cable is a must(obviously).
    The part numbers:
    Bracket for HDD: 33.Q28N2.001
    Cable: 50.Q28N2.004
4 screws to secure the HDD to the bracket: 86.MXRN2.008  (Snip2)
4 screws to attach the HDD assembly to the bay: 86.GCHN2.009  (Snip1)

The G3-571 ships with a HDD Caddy (bracket) included in the optional HDD bay. Also, check for a  package with screws in a small bag with the rest of the packaging. If not included please try contacting Acer store in the United States and they will ship you the hard drive caddy to the adress in US at no charge. . The part number is 42.Q28N2.SV1. You can also try contacting Acer India support and check if HDD caddy is available.

Please follow the instructions in the below weblink on how to access and install an additional 2.5" HDD or SSD.

Buying them online is costing me almost a $100 with the shipping. Now why should I spend extra money for things which should have been given to me with my laptop. Why should I pay for the company's fault .

    Hi,
I understand your frustration but it's a pointer towards future development , we all will have M.2 SSDs only in our laptops and HDDs will be phased out similar to what happened to DVD drives, remember we used to have dummy covers for DVD bay, still you can raise the issue with Acer support centre in your country and they may be able to help you.
