Hello,
I have this configuration currently on my laptop:
CPU - Intel Core i7 3632QM, with no problem turbo boosting to 3.2Ghz
RAM - 2 x Nanya Technology, 4096 MBytes. Total of 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard - EA50_HC_CR (U3E1) with HM77 Southbridge
Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 710M with 2GB Physical Memory
I want to upgrade it with a 500GB SSD, Samsung EVO 850. I think that wouldn't be a problem.
However I read the max RAM for this model is 8GB and that's a bummer. I want to upgrade it to 16GB, has someone achieved that on this model? Even through BIOS modding?

Some BIOS chips may or may not detect & use 16GB (2 x 8GB DDR3L 1600MHz or higher). But not guaranteed work. You would just have to try it and see. The SSD should not be a problem and should give you the most performance boost for the money. Jack E/NJ
