Hello and I need someones help please.

I have an ACER Predator desktop PC which came with windows 7 I believe. I upgraded it when windows 10 cam eout for free. It worked good for a long time.

It was restarted at times, so I just put it aside and purchased another PC.

I since took it out and wanted to reformat and clean up for my son. I did this and it worked OK until . I re-installed Windows 10 using a USB drive. It took a while, but seemed to work just fine.

A week later, when my son wanted to play a game, it said something like it could not use this app, or something similar, I have since tried to reformat and cannot remember the issue, but it would not allow my son to use, uninstall any app. Says not compatible or something like that.

I went to reformat the PC again and tried to install the windows 10 using USB.  I get to the screen where it says Getting Ready, it then shows blank screen and just hangs.

I tried to format again, I tried another USB without success and I have tried to re install the darn windows 10 - at least 10 times and always gets stuck at that screen, PC still on, but no action on screen or movement of disk that I can hear.

PC = Acer Predator Desktop AG 5910 came originally with windows 7.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

    Hi Steve,
Since the computer is not compatible for win10 it will have different issues after every update. So better reinstall the win7 which will be good untill 2020. its more easy with the games. But if you still need win10, then download the media creation tool and install on the unit.

Likely the most recent errors are because there are still partitions on the disk, and the W10 install wants to create new ones. Clean them off (use diskpart from the command prompt you can get to by booting from the install USB) and then let the install proceed normally. It sounds like the original error your son was seeing was because you didn't give his account administrative permissions.
