Was playing GTA V as I do, the laptop was on my blanket so eventually the laptop reached a certain temp and shutdown. Now it won't turn on. No light on the side either. Happened before and the battery reset worked, now it isn'. Laptop is just a week old, cost me 1500 euro. Unbelievable. I know it needs proper ventilation but the not starting up problem seems to be the norm for the Helios 300.

i said in this topic i did a battery reset. I have tried it again for 1 minute, then left the laptop to sit for 30 minutes and finally the light went on. However i do notice i have to tap and press the power button multiple times for anything to happen. That is why when i noticed the power button was just a key, i was disappointed. Someone else here has the same problem. Now my fear is this not restarting thing has so far happened twice, and i have invested so much in to this machine that i will never open it up, or send it in for warranty as it's just unfair. Only a week old, i think it's a design problem or perhaps not.

then you need to send it to acer i think due to continuous overheating there might be some internal damage(i.e components)...

Problem is the notebook and any other gaming notebook needs a constant flow of air for cooling, gaming while having it on a blanket is a really, really bad idea as it will block the air intakes.  Very likely it's overheated and potentially damaged...
