Hello,

I am using the above mentioned Acer laptop and have installed the latest drivers, especially for the Qualcomm Atheros onboard WiFi adapter.

In Windows 7 network connections, my 5 GHz WiFi network is recognized, but unfortunately I can not connect. Other devices like my Samsung smartphone can connect via 5 Ghz without a flaw.

Does my laptop or the WiFi adapter, respectively, really support 5 GHz and did someone else experience the same problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance,
Manfred

The Qualcomm should  able to handle 5MHz OK. I'm not at my Win7 machine right now but try opening Device Manager to check on its properties and make sure it's set to "n" and at 5GHz. Jack E/NJ

If you have the Atheros AR5B22 WiFi/BT mini PCI-e card then its got 5G defiantly, I'm running the Atheros AR5B22 WiFi/BT mini PCI-e on my V3-571G and it works perfectly. If you check your internet access in windows 10 (bottom right taskbar) click it and you should have both a 2.4G and a 5G connection option to the internet from your provider. Check this site 'Unofficial Qualcomm Atheros drivers website' for all Atheros drivers and this link is for the Atheros AR5B22 WiFi/BT mini PCI-e card for win-10 : https://www.ath-drivers.eu/download-driver-for-Atheros-chipset-with-id-76-and-Windows10-64bit.html
