Stripped screw, possible to remove HDD this way?

I got this predator laptop, beforehand buying a separate hard drive to place in the laptop when it arrived. I opened up the back. and used my own screw driver. My brother told me one already came with it, but by that time i had already damaged the screw head within the laptop. So i got a pair of scissors to cut the silver seal down on the right side off to get to the HDD, and it looks like it won't budge. I won't even bother trying. It's an alternative to removing the damaged screw, but i don't know which route to go.. if i had used the original screw driver that came with the laptop, this would all be reverted

Hi, Hard to believe that screw head is damaged. It may not be possible to remove the HDD case without taking the screws out. Get help of local technician and I hope they may have any option to remove the screw, which do not have a head. Give it a try...

Try heating the area "a little" with a hair dryer then place a rubber band on the screw head, apply downward force and slowly turn the screw head. You can try the same after cutting a slot in the screw head for a slightly larger flat blade screwdriver. If that fails you may have to seek professional help as cutting and or drilling the screw head can be tricky depending on the surrounding area.

Same problem with me. I have Helios 300 and same screw is striped even in my laptop. I tried to remove it a lot but didn't succeed. Now dust has closed the vents of my laptop so I have contacted acer and when it's technician will arrive I am going to tell him to help me out with that

Rubber band its the only viable solution as it was already stated above apart from that if its doesnt work that means whoever has this issue its completely screwed

just a bit of advice never use screwdrivers that wouldnt fit the screws perfectly (mainly on any kind of hardware) and dont force the screws always unscrew them gently and especially do not try to invent it may cost you a lot

@KetanHemnani humm i have a feeling that when the acer technician arrive at you house and see's the screw like that he will/might void your warranty straight away and leave i hope not but its a strong possibility as you have tried to open it yourself and damaged it unless in your country you are allowed to open it without voiding the warranty but even so its user self damage you might get charged for it if not voided i really cant understand why pll keep doing/trying to do this if they don't have the proper tools to do it just don't its simple
