Hi, I've got an acer V3-571G with MB Q5WVH LA-7912P, socket rPGA989. Also I have an i5-3210M which I want to upgrade for better performance, could somebody write me a list of i7 processor that will work on my laptop? Thanks!

    Hi,
You can upgrade to one of the following CPUs:
    i7-3610QM
    i7-3612QM
    i7-3720QM

Thanks brummyfan2, I've been watching the i7-3720QM and it has got TDP 45W, my actual i5 has got TDP 35W, does this matters? Or with a good cooling sistem is ok? Thanks and sorry for my english I'm not English XD

You are welcome, yes i7 CPUs will run a bit hotter than i5s, however, your model has the cooling system to handle these CPUs, make sure that you apply thermal paste properly (that is not too much). Don't worry about your English, this is a Global forum and I can assure you that your English is very good.

The TDP does not matter if its even 20W minus or plus, I've upgraded my i7-3610QM that has a TPD of 45W to an i7-3940XM which has a TPD of 55W and its 30% more powerful and it works perfectly, with no problems except and this is something that everyone should be aware of, that if you upgrade your CPU then its more likely that your system will over heat, hence and what I did, is buy a 'notebook cooler' which has fixed the problem, as I only use this laptop as a desktop really and I use it as a portable device.
