I've had my Predator 300 for about a month now and just noticed this strange mark on the monitor. It doesn't seem to wipe off or anything. I haven't spilled anything or banged this laptop up at all. It was mostly in packaging. Anyone know what this is? I can only see it on white spots, but it is pretty noticeable in person. Is this a screen defect?

You could go to the US site with the SNID, explain the situation, and try to arrange a warranty repair in Japan. You might get lucky with an accomodating service agent who's having a great day.   https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support  Other than that, you can try to replace it yourself. Please try to  describe what you are seeing inside the circle because whatever it is I cannot detect even by tilting my own screen. Jack E/NJ

It's like a "dark patch" in my screen. It's just a weird shaped area that is darker than the surrounding screen. I really have no idea. I have never seen it before in any other monitors.

What do you see on a paperwhite blank page in a word processor or imaging app in full screen mode? Because what I see on your previous image may simply be due to Moire artifacts on a webpage. Webpage rendering is not a good way to determine pixel damage or variations. Jack E/NJ

Does these patches appear everywhere and even when gaming? If so, it might be just the LED. The picture you've posted doesn't show that from our end. Try playing some applications and see if it appears everywhere. If so, try connecting a HDMI cable or something to determine if it is not a monitor issue.
    BElieve in YOUrself.

The patch is in the same spot, always. It doesn't go away. But it is easiest to see with a white background. I can try and take another picture if you'd like.

I suggest leaning back a bit so you can see the whole picture. It's very difficult to take a clear picture. Once you see it you'll recognize it. I know it's hard to see in a picture. But it's easy to see in person.

Sorry. I cannot see anything except faint Moire patterns in the bottom picture. What are you using to project a white page? Jack E/NJ

Just a website that makes the screen white. The spot appears everywhere. It's not a software thing, it is very real a strange dark spot in the middle of the screen. It is just easier to see on a white screen.

Do you have a word processing or imaging program that you can project a paperwhite screen instead of a website? The spot does not show on any of the images you have posted so far. Does the spot still appear when you cover one eye or the other? Jack E/NJ

Ya it appears in microsoft word as well. And yes I checked with either eyes and two people I've showed can see it too. Any ideas as to how I can show you a better picture? I know it's difficult to see. You kinda have to not focus on the picture to see it.

If you are dissatisfied with the display and its adjustments, I suggest that you either try to return the machine to the vendor for a refund or replacement, or to arrange for a warranty repair here https://www.acer.com/ac/ja/JP/content/support  Please have you machine's serial number id (SNID) ready if you try to get warranty repair. Yeah I've tried that. Unfortunately, I bought my laptop in the US and recently moved to Japan. I don't really want to send it overseas and be without a laptop for 2 months. Any other options? I would like to replace the screen if possible.

Thank you so much. I will take a look at both of those options. I really appreciate the patience and information. Just kinda sucks to spend $1200 on a laptop and have there be a weird splotch in your screen. Hope I can get it taken care of! Thanks again.
