aspire v 15 nitro blk edition mousepad quit working

started off resizing my resolutions every time grabbed scroll bar on right side....now it can't grab anything to cut and paste...still can point....windows 8.1   any ideas or get new laptop...this one is 2 years old for me

    searching 8.1, but when showing solutions it's windows 10 with other config options

    Okay, in that case then try the below steps.

    1. access control panel. you can press and hold Windows + X and select control panel
    2. on the top right corner you would see search control panel. type mouse and hit enter
    3. Please check if you see anything next to the Hardware tab. If yes then check if its showing as "ELan". If yes then click on it and select options to adjust the mouse sensitivity settings and scroll settings

    and if you dont see these options you may try system restore. ( doing this would remove any recent software or updates done to the unit 
    )

    Press and hold Windows + R and then type RSTRUI.EXE. this would launch system restore point. Follow the on-screen instructions and choose a recent date to restore your unit.
