Aspire E 15 isn't fully shutting down

When I click to shut down my E 15, sometimes it will shut down fully and sometimes, a small blue LED on the front left, next to the SD card reader will remain lit; no amount of waiting will give this LED time to go off.  If I leave it overnight like this, the battery will be dead the next morning.  The only remedy is to restart it and shut it down again and hope it works the second time.  This behavior is random and is probably about every 4th or 5th time I shut down.  What is that LED indicating and what should I be doing differently to get it to shut down fully?

Means power's still on. Probably hibernating.  Try increasing precision on touchpad or mouse to avoid activating hibernation. Or check power options on how the sleep, shutdown and hibernation modes are activated. Also try  deactivating "fast boot' or "fast startup" mode as this sometimes causes these issues. If still no joy, press & hold the power button for about 5 seconds to extinguish the LED for a complete shutdown. Jack E/NJ

Excellent!  I'll look into all of those options and see what I can determine. The touchpad has always been unusefully sensitive, so that sort of chan
