Device: Acer GN246HL 144hz monitor
Purchased from: Amazon.ca

Hello all,

I have recently purchased a new Acer GN246HL monitor from Amazon. Unfortunately, I plugged in the monitor and immediately noticed a buzzing/static/white noise coming from the back of the device. The noise seems to change based on what is on the screen. For example, it is a very low, quiet buzzing when there is very little on the screen and can get very loud and annoying when there is lots on the screen, including movement and mouse scrolling.

I have the device plugged into my GTX 980ti via the provided DVI-D cable so I can reach the 144hz refresh rate.

I have done my own research and have come up with no solution so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my last resort is to return the device to Amazon and get a refund/replacement.

Kind regards,

Sam

The issue seems like it is caused by something called as a coil whine. I think that is why you've this issue man. The issue on a lighter note might be caused by a cable connection issue. So if you have a VGA cable, try switching to that and see if that fixes it but I am sure you won't get the 144hz refresh rate unfortunately. Maybe send it for a return as well and explain this has the reason.
    BElieve in YOUrself.
