hello,

i have just purchased the above chromebook.

I inserted a micro sd card to upload to google photos. Yet, no matter what I try I have to select each manually and so far 17 have been uploaded over several hours.

I asked on various sites for help and was told to go to settings- account - back up and sync and it would work seamlessly, at least to get them on the drive....only I have no back up and sync option in account, just sync all, which is checked..

Any help gratefully received as I can’t seem to get anything to work

Thanks

After you have all the pictures in your machine, move them to a folder and then start uploading it to the Google Photos cloud. Alternatively, I guess you already have the sync but the permissions might be different for a SD card over a folder on your computer. You can go to Google Photos and start adding your Micro SD Card folder to the sync or move these pic to desktop and start the synchronization process m8.

I can’t get the photos on my machine. I can’t transfer or save them to it. I can read my SD card but can’t back it up to the book (no option available) and simply having “sync all” ticked has zero effect. I either need to transfer card to chromebook or card to google photos or card to book and upload but none of that’s happening.

I *think* sync means to match files on the machine to the cloud, not an SD card or flash drive. It may be that you need to either use the terminal mode and Chronos to find the mounted disk or will need a third party app to read a USB disk.

How do I save my photos from Chromebook to a jump drive or either the cloud? I have never done this.

There is a file manager app on your Chromebook by default. You plug the drive into a USB port the use the app to copy files.
