So I have a battery plugged in not charging issue. And all the suggested solutions involve removing the battery. Except that is a massive pain with this Acer laptop. Any other options?

    Hi,
Go to Device manager, expand Batteries, highlight and right click "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control method battery", go to Properties, uninstall the driver in Driver tab, reboot and let Windows install the driver.

    HI folks
I have a similar problem. When I first turn on (always with charger connected as battery does not charge), at first the little battery icon animates as if it is charging, maybe 5 times, and the rollover message says " 03 mins until full charge"; then after a while it changes to "0% plugged in not charging".
I Have already followed all the advice I can find on multiple sites including:
    - replaced the battery with a new one
    - updated and reinstalled drivers for battery (multiple times to be sure!)  Every time I am told I already have the best drivers.
    - updated the BIOS
    - tried pressing the battery 'remove' button through the pinhole in bottom of casing - while PC on, while off, while plugging in, while standing on my head...
    - held power button for a long time
    - many of these in combination.
    - changed the power cable

    Anyone got anything else?

Also to note: the orange light with a picture of battery next to it often is blinking. If I've shut down and left laptop plugged in (I do that a lot, should I not?) it is sometimes blinking when I come back, and in these case the laptop won't turn on. I have to unplug the cable, replug in, then the light stays solid and laptop starts.

A blue light next to this, with an icon of lightbulb, is always lit when on.

Right now I am using the laptop and the orange light is blinking.

    Hope someone can help?
