As described, the monitor (model h277hu, still in warranty) turns on, and appears to cycle through inputs but never displays a picture. It was working fine until a few days ago. Tested with both PC and Mac, HDMI and USB-C. I cannot even get the on-screen controls to pop up.

Is there someway to reset the monitor to factory defaults? As it stands when I power cycle the monitor it doesnt even display the Acer boot/logo.

Please try a power reset. Disconnect the power and video cable. press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Reconnect only the power cord and check the monitor.

Check if you get the on-screen controls to pop up. Click the "Menu" button, located at the bottom of your Acer monitor. Press the right arrow button, until the "Reset" feature is highlighted on your display screen. This feature is marked with a large "R" with an arrow pointing off to the right. When highlighted, "Reset" is displayed in the sub-menu.Press the "Menu" button twice to reset your Acer monitor.

If the issue persists, please contact Acer support to get it fixed in warranty.
