Aspire V3-572PG wont wake from sleep in Windows 10

At first you can try power reset by unplugging the battery(if removable) or pressing the battery reset switch inside a pinhole underneath the laptop(if battery is non-removable). If that doesn't work, I would suggest you to install the intel driver available here and download the latest nvidia driver from nvidia.com. If the issue still persists download the latest intel hd graphics driver for your CPU from Intel.

It is possible that windows has updated the intel driver automatically, as the one available from Acer is outdated. In windows search type 'device installation settings' without the quotes and hit enter, then choose NO and save changes. Now install the Intel HD driver from the link I have given in my previous post. If the issue re-appears again try the 2 solutions below:

Open command promt(admin)/windows powershell(admin) and input the following command sfc /scannow
This will scan for any windows corrupted files and attempt to fix them.

Then go to control panel>view by:small/large icons>troubleshooting and under system and security click on 'fix problems with windows update'. Run the tool once and then 2nd time as an administrator.

Some people with Haswell-ULT laptops use the Windows 8.1 Intel Management Engine Interface driver as a workaround for sleep and/or shutdown problems when running Windows 10.

It is quite strange - I can put the laptop into sleep mode myself and move the mouse which will wake it, however if I leave it to sleep through inactivity nothing I do will wake it. I then have to hold down the power button and restart it everytime which I don't think can be too good for it.

Open a Command Prompt and run this command:

powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

This should return a list of devices configured to wake your device from sleep, if no devices are listed:

Open Control Panel - Keyboard
Open the Keyboard control panel item, as described in Method 1.
Click the Hardware tab, and then click Properties.
Click the Change Settings button
Click the Power Management tab, and then verify that the 'Allow this device to wake the computer is enabled'
Click OK, and then click OK again

Then in Control Panel - Mouse, do the exact same process for your mouse . . .

Thanks. This solved it.

Quite strange. I left the laptop overnight and was able to wake it by moving the mouse.

Today though I've noticed that if I leave it for 1 hour it will wake, but any longer than that and it won't wake. It seems as though it was fixed but has reverted back to the old problem.

I think at this point I will just have to disable sleep and hibernate entirely and shut it down at night.

Please post your complete model number. Do you have the Haswell-ULT version or the Broadwell-ULT version?

Using the program HWiNFO64 it states my Intel Core i5-4210U has codename Haswell ULT. It also has Intel Haswell-MB ULT GT2 - Integrated Graphics Controller.

It seems to be fixed now thanks. I tried all the suggestions, not sure what the culprit was but guessing the intel hd graphics.
