Hi

I just bought alpha 12 for 2 weeks. Today the key with comma on it( the key just above Alt Car) came out from the keyboard. I called Acer support they wanted me to ship everything back to them for repair. I asked them if I can only ship keyboard back, they said no. I need to ship everything back even the other parts are working fine. It is quite annoying.

I found the keys are not strongly attached to keyboard. I felt over the time, the other keys could be came out as well??   Anyone here experience issues with the keyboard? How is the reliability of this keyboard?

Could I fix it by myself instead of shipping everything to acer for repair? or Is there other stronger keyboard i can replace it?

Thanks

Replacing the keycover can be done but not easily due to a spring-loaded teeter-totter that holds the cover in place and provides touch resistance. Covers don't pop off very often unless they catch on something that accidentally pries them off. Jack E/NJ

Thanks Jack, can I use crazy glue to glue the cover back to keyboard? not sure if it is possible? Thanks

Yes if the key mechanism seems to respond OK without its cover. But not crazy glue cuz it could harm the plastic.  I'd probably try to use double-sided tape. Jack E/NJ
