My tablet charge was at 0 this morning. It was not plugged in overnight. I plugged in the charger this morning and even now its only showing an image of a battery and at about 20 capacity. There is no home page showing. Just a black screen with the picture of a battery. The unit was purchased in August 2016.

That's normal when charging after low battery has caused a shutdown. You can wait for the charge to complete or just power it on while charging. The former will finish the charge faster...

I wound up calling Customer Service who told me how to reset the battery. This after I charged for 36 hours and was only at 84%. After the reset I am at 94% and despite customer service waiting with me it never increased. They want to charge $110.00 plus tax to repair. Not doing that since I saw a major brand name on sale for only thirty dollars more. Will NEVER buy Acer again.

There's a 'feature' in Android that has trouble keeping track of battery charge. Over time it gets worse and worse, even though the battery itself is just fine. Google has promised a fix, but it's been quite a while now and it's still there. The reset helps as does several full charge cycles, but it always creeps back. Just ignore it until it gets too bad and then reset as you did.
