my laptop cpu gets heated upto 85c whil my gpu stays low!!!!

while playing heavy games my laptop cpu gets pretty heated quicklyand my gpu stays low.....my cpu reaches a max tmps of 85c and average of 70c etc.....is it normal???...if not what are the steps to control the cpu temps....because due to heating im getting frame drops...

What is the full model number of your device?

Anything below 75C is seen as "safe". I believe GPUs can handle slightly higher temperatures. The higher the temperatures, the worse it is. You want your temperatures to be as low as they possibly can be. For a laptop, this might be harder due to limited cooling options. The predator series has Acer Acer Coolboost application to  improve system cooling by increasing the fan speed during heavy use. 

High temperatures (80-90c+) shorten the lifespan of a component if they're constantly operated at that specific temperature for long periods of time. In more severe cases, it will start throttling the speed down in order to lessen the temperature. Even though it does this, the temperature is usually still not that great. In more extreme cases, it will simply shut off and either fail to boot or enter a reboot loop.

mine is acer predator g3 572 i.e. with i5 7300hq gtx1050ti.actually i first played all my games in ultra and i had frequent ups and downs in tmp,like it goes till 87c for like one sec and decreases suddenly to 80 etc.but after lowering my graphics settings my laptop temp is constant it stays upto 79c, some tyms it heatens up to 80 to 85c and also by enabling vsync my cpu temperature remains below 80c.actually these temperature spikes as mentioned above are my cpu's.my gpu doesnt have over heating issue.my cpu only overheats on highly demanding games like syndicate,watch dogs,blackflag
